1. Introduction

Welcome to Sigilweaver. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Sigilweaver software, website (sigilweaver.app), documentation, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

The Service is operated by Sigilweaver LLC ("Company", "we", or "us"). The Sigilweaver software intellectual property is owned by Sigilweaver Holdings LLC and is licensed to the Company for commercial operation. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Open Source License

The Sigilweaver software is released under an open source license. The specific license terms are included in the LICENSE file within the software repository. Your use of the software is governed by that license in addition to these Terms.

In the event of any conflict between these Terms and the open source license, the open source license shall govern with respect to the software source code. These Terms govern your use of the website and related services.

3. Trademark

"Sigilweaver" and the Sigilweaver logo are trademarks of Sigilweaver Holdings LLC. While the software is open source, the trademarks are not. You may not use the Sigilweaver name or logo to endorse or promote products derived from the software without prior written consent, except as required by the open source license for attribution purposes.

If you fork or modify the software, you must use a different name and branding for your derivative work to avoid confusion.

4. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will meet your specific requirements
  • The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
  • The results obtained from using the Service will be accurate or reliable
  • Any errors in the software will be corrected

5. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL SIGILWEAVER LLC, SIGILWEAVER HOLDINGS LLC, THEIR OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OR CONTRIBUTORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:

  • Your access to or use of (or inability to access or use) the Service;
  • Any conduct or content of any third party on the Service;
  • Any content obtained from the Service;
  • Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or data;
  • Data loss, corruption, or security breaches.

6. User Responsibilities

By using the Service, you agree to:

  • Use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms
  • Not use the Service to process, store, or transmit any data that violates applicable laws
  • Take responsibility for your own data backups and security
  • Not attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or any related system
  • Not interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers/networks connected to it
  • Comply with all applicable local, state, national, and international laws and regulations

7. Contributions

We welcome contributions to Sigilweaver! By submitting code, documentation, or other contributions to the project, you agree that:

  • Your contributions are your original work or you have the right to submit them
  • Your contributions will be licensed under the same license as the project
  • You grant Sigilweaver Holdings LLC (the intellectual property owner) a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, modify, and distribute your contributions
  • You waive any rights to be credited beyond what the project's contribution guidelines specify

8. Support

Sigilweaver is maintained by a solo developer. While we strive to provide helpful support and respond to issues, support is provided on a best-effort basis. There is no guarantee of response times or resolution of issues.

For community support, please use GitHub Issues or other community channels as available.

9. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Sigilweaver LLC, Sigilweaver Holdings LLC, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or debt arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

10. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. The open source license governing the software itself remains unaffected by any such termination.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Ohio, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms will be brought exclusively in the federal or state courts located in Ohio.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable or invalid, such provision will be changed and interpreted to accomplish the objectives of such provision to the greatest extent possible under applicable law, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
